Re: Post your Portraits!
Lovely portraits, Charlie! I am assuming they were created with lenses adapted to an NEX camera? I must say, I envy the compact dimensions of that solution, for I must use the behemoth a700. Here are a few taken with the 35/1.8 SAM. The first two are of my wife, the last is of our very own John LeBlanc:

Re: Post your Portraits!
I can only do this with a self-portrait - actually, not a self-portrait, and not Sony. This shot was taken by Richard (son) on Monday. I have recently acquired a Hasselblad 503CX with a Phase One P20 digital back (16 megapixels, no AA filter) and 80mm CF Zeiss. This cost me less than my A900 body, so it was an easy decision to buy when a fellow professional decided it was time to sell after 120,000 shots.
These two versions are full frame from the sensor, with a 10mm extension tube (Hasselblad 80mms do not focus close!) and studio flash at f/11. No Photoshop has been used - they are the result of changing Clarity, Contrast, Brightness, Vibrance and Saturation controls only in Adobe Camera Raw. The two extreme opposite effects are mainly down to use of minimum and maximum Clarity.
You really would not like to see the full size (upscaled to 107MB and still bitingly sharp) 'harsh' version! I now have a divorce petition to deal with

Much prefer the "hard" version. It looks real, the other looks Photoshopped, even if it wasn't!

An a700, an a550 and couple of a580s, plus even more lenses (Zeiss included!).

Obviously, David is using potent collagen creams... the ones I have sent...
Re: Post your Portraits!
I prefer the stubbly one too, David!

My wife will kill me if she knows I've done this - in fact I can't promise they'll stay up for long! About 25 years between the two. Both of these have been scanned from film. The first was taken with a Minolta SRT101b (apologies for the dust but I thought NR would spoil it!), the second with a Rollei 6000i with 80mm Zenotar.

I don't really know. But she's a wonderful woman that knows her job pretty well. A pleasure working with her.artington wrote:Great photo, Pako. Wonder what she was thinking about.

Re: Post your Portraits!
Great shots so far everybody! David, I definitely prefer the first. Pako I love the father of the bride shot, you have really captured his personality. Artington, I know exactly what you mean. Every shot I have of my wife online is unbeknownst to her! Here is one from our hike in the Muir Woods near San Francisco.http://www.nps.gov/muwo/index.htm

If the last thing you remember hearing is somebody yelling 'CLEAR!!!', assume you've had a problem!!
a77, a700, a200, Minolta 8000i, NEX C3, NEX 5N and more lenses than my wife suspects!

Great shots!
I remember seeing Pako's 'Father of the Bride' in the forum a long time ago but always a pleasure to have a glimpse once again. : )
The Diana Von Furstenberg shot shows how unbiased or without complexes she really is against the high-resolution of modern cameras. She certainly takes pride in her age and is a good professional if my memory serves me right.
Lovely in-the-moment shots of your wife Artington.
John, always a sweet pleasure to see your growing daughter; she indeed changed since the last photos of her that you uploaded online a few months ago.
Thanks for sharing,
Yildiz

Re: Post your Portraits!
Nice photos of your wife then & now Artington.
Thats a terrific shot of the Brides Father Pako.
Stephanie used a couple of DVFs dresses on Eureka, she did the first two seasons of that show. Great portrait of a great designer.
Very nice capture of your daughter John, she really is growing up fast.
