Wind, rain & 7ºc.
Thanks Greg, Yildiz & Birma.
Another fine shot Dennis. The windows would not have had much of a view were they real, I thought they were. :^) A skylight or two might be the way to go.
Greg, careful with that very old paint it contains lead, wear a mask if sanding. You most likely do?

Beautiful morning today in Aberdeen but only around 5degC. Took the dogs to the beach at 9am and had a lovely 2 hour walk in glorious sunshine. Had a play with the A77 and 16-80CZ. An interesting stump. Mike

Those beach scenes look very inviting Mike but 5 degrees might be a little outside of my comfort zone, nice detail on the stump. Greg
Ps Thanks all and yes I wear a mask and a face shield most of the time when using the heat gun and scraper, also there is usually a gusty breeze and that tends to disperse the fine powdery dust. And no, unfortunately Birma, much as I'd like too, it's no place for a camera up there with the dust, but I keep an eye out just the same, I saw a large flock of Ibis against the blue sky the other day, looked good they weren't very high up.

Mike, did you use a fill flash in the stump shot?

Beach fun already, Mike?! There's the fragrance of wet salty sand and the lazy sounds of the waves in these shots. I like the wave-washed, sun-dried drift wood....and I'm a bit envious of your dog dipping in the sea. Thanks for sharing, Thanks, Birma. : ) I'm absolutely keeping myself warm and not risking a cold. I hope you do also.... Yildiz

Doc,
Yes it needed fill in flash to bring out some detail, you can see a double shadow on the left side. Having a few issues with both the A77 and A580 and PSE9 RAW giving a strong cyan tint to the skies. Need to play a bit more to see what the best solution is. Used daylight WB when shooting and processing.
The dogs love the beach, lots of water, sand (digging) sticks and stones as well as lovely washed up dead things to eat like bits of crabs, mussels and starfish. Sometimes a lovely rotten fish or a dead seagull or seal pup to roll in!hiccup!! Yes dogs and beaches go hand in hand. Then the journey home with 2 wet smelly dogs, you can't beat it.
By the way by 4pm it was snowing!
Mike

Lovely simple image Dennis. I like the detail in the snow and the misty sunlight

That looks a little like a salt pan here in the early morning going fishing Dennis. But I know it isn't, I think it's the mist/fog over in the distance that you don't see here very often, plus it just 'looks' cold. I have to say well done for braving that icy temperature and bringing us the shot. Greg

Been raining most of the day, and was overcast when I checked on the bridge, it seems to be making some progress. Greg Townsville weather: 24.8|29.7°C, H73%, 13|20km/h SE|ENE KM5D KM18-200 Attachment:
