Wow Birma, great images both!
I like the lush green colors in the foreground and snow topped mountains in the background of the first image. All the sheep add nice details. The second image offers the kind of peaceful symmetry in composition, shapes and colors I get attracted to in images. There is however enough to see to not get bored by it.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy either in poster format and hang it on a wall. Great stuff Birma, really!
Mark

John;
That looks like a magnificent sky colour. I'm glad everyone and the family home is intact. The vicious weather may have easily caused you some inconvenience but lucky you were, as you say. We had a similar looking sky because of the dust particles travelling all the way here from Africa's deserts. Expecting some rain to clear the dust remnants away today. : )
Birma; : )
Youhave the brilliant, crystal clear weather that we all crave for.
The two images are of excellent quality: lovely scenery, good depth, vivid colours. : )) I think the tiny-seeming sheep in your first meadow shot, are benefitting from the extra resolution power of the CZ 16-80 mm. : )) I'm very glad you finally got a good sample.
Thanks for sharing,
Yildiz

Birma,
Wish we were there with you. I'm getting withdrawl symptoms. Lovely shots as usual.

Great shots Birma- They are both nicely composed, and show tons of detail. Both are fine examples of what the CZ can do in the right hands... Thanks for the compliments on my photo. It felt good to show some beauty after the fury. At last count, 1100 homes destroyed/damaged in North Texas, NO deaths. Simply amazing. I took this shot yesterday, but the weather was the same today. Emma tiptoeing through the Bluebonnets as I struggled to get a good shot. Right now 18° C, winds SE @10 km/h. I hope everybody has a good night/ day. John

Great image John. I like these kind of moody, almost romantic images. Great light, good angle where details of Emma are visible although she's almost a silhouette and the flare adds to the overall image. The viewer gets a good impression as to where she's going and what she's doing. Thanks for sharing it!

Thanks John . I like the contre-jour shot. Pleased to know there have been no deaths, but 1000+ destroyed homes sounds dreadful.

A rather dull and drizzly day for the last day of our holiday. Here are a couple more long exposure shots of the burn. Skye 2012 - Burn corner by Birm, on Flickr Skye 2012 - Tree in the bank by Birm, on Flickr Both shot with Nex 5 and SAL CZ 16-80 with Polariser + ND filters.

Hi John,
It almost looks like a vintage photo with your attempt at going against the Sun. : ) Must be a nice bed of Bluebonnets...and also must be cute to have to walk between them.
Hi Birma,
Good ones of the Burn with the ND filters. I like the first one that shows a lot of water action.
Thanks for sharing,
Yildiz
