Those are nice -- how much do you bribe them to pose so nicely for you?

Wow aa los banos! Those are great Osprey shots. I'd love to see a bird like that free in the sky, not in a zoo, as I did. Well done.

Hi everyone, it's been a few days. Been busy with a lot of thing which was in the way of photography ;-)
Today, I sneaked in a few minutes of shooting birds in my backyard. I was right in time too!

It's a shame most birds were sitting behind braches.

#2 Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs)

Oh by the way, I love finched. Does it show?

Nice ones Mark, that last one is a pretty bird. It might show just a little that you love Finches but that’s fine with me, Finches are wonderful little birds. My supply of Finches has dwindled away since the Norfolk Pine tree died and the empty allotment next door had a house built on it, now the only ones I see are Sparrows and the occasional small group of Nutmeg Mannikins, both are introduced types.

I did get a couple of mediocre shots of the Peewee(s) today, it was the old story, when you don’t take any notice of them and your working away with no camera handy they are almost underfoot, but as soon as you get the camera they get a bit standoffish and skittish.

@aa los banos: Your last two pictures are just brilliant! This is the best word that describe them and there is no need to add something else. 8)

Those are some nice finches, Mark, I hope to see some around my house soon..
Greg, I like those Peewees, their black and white feathers are a nice contrast to the green grass...
