Thanks a bunch for ur much appreciated comments ) I most say that the sigma 70-300 is very handy when u want shallow DOF and nice bokeh, i am loving that lens more and more i have tried to take the same pictures with my 17-70 but the DOF is nowhere near the 70-300, the only downside with it is the closets distans to the objects 95cm versus 22cm with the 17-70.

Wow, haven't been looking at GIYBS for a long time, great photos, everyone. Here is my meager addition. Caught this one morning after the rain on the side of the house. A350 and Beercan. Attachment:

Very nice series Dennis. On DSC000093 and 96 I find the yellow background reducing the impact of the foreground flower which is in a similar color, thus losing some impact of the details. But that could be my monitor too.

Dusty, Interesting. When I look at it, it leads me more towards the weather than the flower. It is an equally perfect candidate for the Weather in your vicinity thread..

Sury I agree that it´s a bit yellow, but they are straight out the camera so no post processing

A couple from a recent hike. The second one is a different perspective and thought I will include just for a change. It has flora, it is a photo so it is phloral right. Taken with Dimage A2. Doc, Sharp Dandelion. Would the bokeh be creamier with f5.6 or bigger aperture? Just curious. I am slowly being drawn into Zeiss vortex and I am afraid it is a matter of time before I succumb.

Sury, I don't have dandelions with wider aperture for now, but am gladly linking one with f/4 of a Syringa (Lilac) As for succumbing, well I'm afraid you have a long explanation to your wife

I prefer the f2 range for Zeiss bokeh. Makes for challenging composition though. Nice shots Doc.
