How is/was the west coast?
Not been a brilliant week here but I know that dramatic and moody skies are a west coast speciality.
Hope it wasn't too bad.

Hi Mike,

So far, mixed! Yesterday was brilliant with sunshine and some dramatic skies. This morning was lovely and we were tempted out for a longish walk. It poured and hailed in succession - wet to the skin . Tilly was a real trooper and didn't complain at all - fueled by chocolate digestives. Her cheapy waterproof dungarees were far superior to our fancy gear - I fear they don't do them in my size though . Some pictures in the Autumn Skye thread of the rain soon.

Nice colours in the sunshine there Sury . The detail and bokeh are great on the Hassy shot.

Some good ones there guys, lots of diversity.

Walked out yesterday into the rain and this one is still up in the front garden.

Don't know what it is but it's survived a few frosts already.

Greg, am I to assume that I may be the resident person you mentioned? : )) If so, then I believe, going by the pointed arrow-head shaped leaves, this flower is more a Marigold than a Gerbera.

Of course you are Yildiz m’dear. Wowzer there sure is some variety in the Marigold world when you have a bit of a look, some are so different you’d wonder how they know what they are, but nice going Yildiz I think you could be on the money.

Yes, the humankind really tried to put a name on every single species out there with the tiniest of differences that I'm pretty sure the flowers are happy creatures to be left out of the name race that's imposed on them. : ) I'm no expert but I've always had marigolds of this kind in one of my flower pots to know what they look like. I had some strange experiences too; some twinhead blossoms and such. Flowers are just as interesting to watch grow as home pets, especially when they leave the path of regular growth....and believe me, I had some of those. Funny creatures, if a Calendula officinalis can be called that, of course!

That's the only kind of leaves I can read with some proper estimates... Just don't expect me to read tea leaves left in your tea cup for a good fortune-telling session! : ) I may better off tell you what's in your future without having to look at any. Hmm, for example, I can see a new gear-acquisition tide coming your way! : ))
(Coming any close? With more lenses than cameras this time but I do see a new camera in the not-so-distant future also. They will lure you in their direction. Beware of any steering in any direction you don't want to spend your money just yet..... : ) )
