Good ones, Birma and Zeb. : )

Lovely scenery complementing the ferries, Birma. I like the serene and tranquil look in all.

Zeb, nice urban shots. I like the toad story as well. Very fitting resemblence and analogy. The second one of yours speeding away reminds me of the contemporary power boats that the Swedish pilots are also very good at driving.

Thanks for sharing,

Southeasterly winds reaching to near 60 knots are expected ahead of
the front through Hecate strait and Dixon entrance and offshore west
of Haida Gwaii today.

Great one with Tower Bridge as a bonus Mark.

Looked like they were short the oars in the first one Zeb, I see it tearing along pretty good in the second. Nice shots and yes the water is a fabulous blue in the first. Which part is First Class? ;^)

Your shots are truly amazing Birma. Every single one!

Very nice BW caporip, similar to ferry I once took in Dawson to cross the Klondike River.

Thanks DA :) Hope everything is well tied down for those winds

Lovely B&W Caporip - that is a great ferry crossing as well. Probably the best way to cross to Skye, if you have the time for the detour. That is quite an unusual view of it I think - the 70-400 probably helps :)

I like the little ferries/cruise boats in the Islands and near the tower bridge Birma, Mark, and Zeb the architecture in your ‘toad’ boat first shot is very neat and clean looking and I like what appear to be stone steps along the edge of the water. Interesting pebbly beach view Birma, and the B&W is also good caporip, it looks like the lighthouse might have been placed there as an exhibit as they are usually located on a prominence.
Greg

I think I posted this one before but it probably belongs in the ferry thread anyway.

Thanks Greg :) .

Can't remember seeing that one before, but it is a craker! Very tall wheel-house - I guess to see over the equally large front ramp. Like the view with the distant hills as background.

I couldn't visit my favourite part of the world without trying to see a ferry :) .

A cold day with a bitter wind, but with some cheerful sunshine. Snow dusted peaks on the mainland.

Same day, some less bright and cheerful weather!

Both with A700 and CZ 16-80. A new lens for me (bought second hand) replacing the Tamron 17-50/2.8 which is 'unwell'. This lens just feels right on the A700 and so the dslr has been brought out of retirement. Using the lens band as suggested by DK. Really smooths the zoom action.

Like the first image most, as there are so much details to see, even in the mountains in the distance.

Birma,

Glad you got a CZ even if secondhand.
It sure makes a difference in detail but I haven't tried on my A700, must do that soon.

You managed to get a changeable week and as you well know up there, "changeable" can mean a complete weather change in the course of 5 minutes. Enjoy and keep sending, I love seeing your photos. Here we were 22degC in glorious sunshine last week and 2 degC and snow yesterday! Oh the joy of Scotland.

Thanks Mike and Mark :) .

I haven't done any scientific tests, but I think I prefer the CZ to my old Tamron already. The range is great for a general lens as well.

Ah, so welcome to your Isle of Skye, Andy. : )

Some windy cheer with good air and lovely scenery. Must already gotten years younger after urban-aging took its toll. :D

Nice blue shot in the first while a nice gray shot in the second. I suppose it's the same ferry different time? They do look identical, though I can't read the name on the ferry from this far.

Enjoy! : )

Hi Greg,

A good one that looks like a white gliding swan from your parts. : )
