Hi Mike - although the detail in the foreground is great, I think I prefer the previous shot. Perhaps it is because in the previous shot the lighthouse is lower and to the right more - can't really explain why :?

Mike,
This one looks as if something got chopped to the right. I think it is the angle and perspective, especially looking at it right
after seeing the other one. The foreground sharpness in both of them is great, never the less.

Er!, Birma, the lighthouse was lower and towards more to left compared to this one, at least on my monitor. :)

With best regards,
Sury

I agree. For me it has more to do with the foreground being too prominent. It draws attention away from the tiny lighthouse. I think the subject would be more clear if the plants in the foreground would be less dominant. In you're first image, there is actually more green in it, but it's a softer shade. The lighthouse is bigger too, which helps.

Mark

I like this better than the first Corbier pic you posted. Anyway, I would prefer a closer shot of the Lighthouse ;-)
