Now I like the modern HGR stuff - if it is well done but there is a bit much of it about at the moment. So how about a thread for the good old fashioned subtle photo. Here are mine for starters. Anyone want to share?

Love the photos especially the first one for the creaminess and the third one for the stillness, if you will. Here are my my two cents.... :)

These were taken on San Francisco Bay, California from a friend's sail boat.

Anna, your shots are superb!
Sury, I like your 2nd shot. (Oh, and do clean that dust bunny...)

Very nice images indeed Anna and Sury. It's nice to see some different take on photography. These images give a lovely relaxing feeling when viewed. Well executed you both!

Another one....with partial view of the Golden Gate Bridge, celebrating 75 years of existence and showing no signs of wear...

I think that everyone who visits San Francisco feels compelled to take at least one shot of the Golden Gate Bridge.

When I was there in early May of 2011, I did so a number of times over several days. The first two images below were taken late in the day from water level, shooting toward the sun, which created the conditions for the "Opposite of HDR" images. The third image was taken from the walkway/breakwater in front of the Maritime Museum. It is a very conventional image, but I like it for the variety of subjects in it.

With best wishes,
- Tom -

Tom,
I agree about the compulsion vis-a-vis Golden Gate Bridge. I love the photos especially #1 for the misty bridge, mist being another
trademark of the area and the 3rd one for the motion and activity it conveys.

With best regards,
Sury
