I think it is because of something new in the forum software, Dennis. It's been like this for a while. You can always link to the the original-sized one that opens on an other page by using the img tags in the message page.

What a cool image! The composition is a bit dul but the ghosts of Dennis are sweet :)

Nice lighting on the plane. Try add a bit flash under the wings and nose, they are a bit dark.

I'm in NZ at the moment and achieved a long time ambition of getting up close to a whale. This is my "catch of the day/life" a sperm whale, apparently the largest toothed predator on the planet:-

Great capture caporip, I’m sure that I’ve seen reports of Giant Squid being washed up on NZ shores, they most likely died after a battle with Sperm Whales, there are plenty of reports of strings of very large suction disk injuries on Sperm Whales. It’s very likely that Sperm Whales hang out where the squid are.

Thanks all.

Greg

You're right, there is a preserved one (or what is left of it) in the main museum in Wellington, although not the biggest apparently, I wouldn't like to argue with it. Our whale guides were saying that great white sharks have been found in sperm whale stomachs!
