Yeah, the windmill shot was top shelf. <thumbs up!>

Here was the one I was able to get off the back deck...

I was bummed about the clouds at the time, but in hindsight, they made the shot.

Thanks Lonnie- This beautiful shot makes me wish that I had just a little bit of clouds! It is very mysterious and ethereal. But, I can really see how people in the olden days would have thought that this meant the end of the world, or that the gods were angry or whatever. John

Cool photo!

By the way, a few days ago a 71-year old Japanese man told me that when he was a child he saw a solar eclipse. It was in the countryside in Japan and people built smoky fires so that the smoke would allow people to safely look at the sun. He laughed about how now people go out and buy special glasses to wear.

I took off from the airport in Tokyo early in the morning on Monday -- just a few minutes before the eclipse. It was an overcast day and Japanese friends the day before had told me that I might be the only one of us to be able to see it since I would be in the air and maybe above the clouds. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see it because we were in the clouds for a long time.

I think it’s a cool ‘the gods are angry’ shot that has some ‘atmosphere’ Lonnie, I have seen quite a few shots on other sites that aren’t as good with no clouds present at all.
