Both with A99. The first with Tamron 90 Macro, and the second with the SAL 28-75.

I have had another stab at a short video. Some nice bird song I think in this one. I can see I'm going to have to learn which is which now . The background noise is the wind in some tall Poplar trees nearby. I also had to time the shots to avoid the noise of 'gun-fire'. There is a fruit farm just over the hill from where I was shooting and they have a bird-scarer set (even at 6 in the morning - poor neighbours!). It was a bit of a shock when it first went off - I almost took cover . It was firing on a random pattern, so it was a bit hit and miss to try and find quiet interludes.

Nice to see the Poppies are out in your garden Caporip. Yes, the meadow is one of the reserves managed by Worcestershire Wildlife Trust. I heartily recommend checking out your local branch of the Wildlife Trust. All of my favourite local photo locations I have discovered through this organisation. The Worcestershire one has a Flickr group which is very useful for finding out what is 'out' in different parts of the county.

I agree, I'm a member of the Kent Wildlife Trust and they have some fantastic sites.

Sony A99 with Sigma 70 - 300.

Those last two are very nice Birma, best Buttercups (last espesh) and orchids yet I think, the orchids were impressive in the second last and the pink variety is interesting. (it could have done with a little more dof perhaps so you can see the whole head more sharply but that probably would have made the bokeh not as smooth, no easy answer on that one)

Thanks Greg . I agree about the dof dilemma. I must give the stacking method described by Sury a try. I have a sequence of shots to experiment with, and I've even purchased a focus rail to try out as well. I seem to have gotten in to a habit of chasing the light around in the mornings at the moment and so perhaps not taking the time I should over individual shots.

Definitely having a thing about buttercups at the moment so you can expect quite a few more of these. They are very common in huge swathes this year and so you can't go outside without stumbling across them, unlike the bluebells where you have to hunt down the prime locations. There are also a lot of Ramsons (white flower, Wild Garlic) in the PP queue .

Very nice flowers from Texas Valery. Surely there must be a yellow rose as well . Sury may be able to export some nice ones from California if they are running short.

I particularly like the small yellow and red flowers that are surrounding the cactus, and water lilies are always a lovely sight.

I haven't see the yellow rose, but capture this one.
