Fern Cave. Lone Trail Bluff, Santa Cruz California. It was a foggy morning without much light.

Lonely Fisherman, but not without hope. Those bluffs were 100M+ in height.

Wow, very nice corner of the Earth, Sury.

As you say, maybe on a brighter day that will reaveal more details this place would look even more majestic but I like the shots all the same. Especially the second shot with an almost-horseshoe like shaped formation is breathtaking.

Thanks for sharing,

Yildiz

ps. I see where your fisherman was in the third shot. Puts the whole fishing affair to a new perspective. :)

Interesting place Sury - I like the second shot showing the little bay. Would be a great place for some sunset shots, and then maybe a nice fire on the beach and a few beers :)

Yildiz, Andy,
So true. On a clear day the location would be very dramatic and the sunset would
be precious. Unfortunately, the marine fog is ever present and one has to be lucky
enough to be there on a right day, at the right time WITH the camera. :D

As for beers, that would make any day, a good day to be alive.

Impressive coastline Sury, (and rugged), I wonder what would happen if the fisherman latches onto a 50lb fish...and it's on the end of the line a few hundred feet down at the bottom of a cliff...?

Greg,
I guess it would be hook, line and sinker or sink him?
That is a scary scenario and even his location is rather
bothersome given the instability of these cliffs. Between seagulls
trying snatch his catch in mid-air as Yildiz wondered and your
scenario of being pulled down by a big fish, I think he was between
rock and a deep place. :D

Beautiful shots, Sury. :)

Look at the waves washing the rocks that protrude into the ocean. How wild looking! I especially liked the third. Good angle of view that shows off the rock formatons in gradual steps. And there are the Andy-esque dry flowers that you shot a close up of.

Very nice scenery indeed.

Thanks for sharing,

Very photogenic Sury, and good pix too. It sure looks like a great place to toss a line in, from the beach.

All very nice coast captures Sury, along with those bird shots. Thanks for sharing.
Been to Santa Cruz, but missed out! Are there any flying fish off that part of the coast? ;^)

Yildiz, Greg and David,
Thank you.
Greg, I see quite a few fish and of course, deep sea fishing is a big tourist attraction here.
David, if it is any consolation, I have been living in the area since 1984(about 40 mins drive) and drove
by the park so many times. It took me 30 years to discover these gems (Natural bridges I posted couple
of months ago and this one). Had I imbibed my libations, I am sure would have spotted some flying fish with
sparkles to boot.

While checking back through the data banks I discovered that I had not finished processing all of the shots from my holiday back in April! So these are from 4 months ago.

These are from one of my favourite areas on Skye, Glen Brittle at the foot of the Cuillin ridge. We took a short walk and a picnic up to see the Eas Mor waterfall which is in a small gorge. Fabulous view. It had been a very, very dry spring and so the waterfall was just a trickle. I can't wait to go back there when the burn is really full of water! The burn cascades down the hill side and seems to present new photo opportunities around every bend. There is a very well worn path alongside the burn as this is one of the main routes up in to the mountains for all of the serious mountain climbing types. Very handy for the not so adventurous photographer :) .

Very nice shots Andy. A burn is a creek? River? Just curious.
