I need to put that lens onto my new A77 already.
Nice expression. I love the skin tones. Is the forehead area a tad "hot"?

Usually I am not a big fan of dark glasses covering eyes. In this case, it worked very
well, Doc. Conveying the bright light of the day.

I hope you all forgive me for being reptitious (my "only" model - willing or otherwise, my daughter).
This is with Hasselbald 250mm/f4 on A900. I post processed in Portrait Professional and
Photoshop (levels and color balance).

With best regards,
Sury

Sury, my friend, great shot and an adorable and beautiful model (don't tell that to her, otherwise you'll have to bribe her every time you decide to take her picture  )
I saw your shot on Flickr, but decided to comment here. Two thumbs up my friend. BTW, I was thrilled at f/1 in Flickr, so realized quickly that a non native lens was used, but which?
Honestly and frankly, may I ask if you're attending photography courses lately?

Ah, the reluctant daughtermodel has returned

Indeed a great shot sury. Nice backlight and you still managed to get enough fill so you can see her. Great skintones too!

Doc,
Thank you for your kind words. Much appreciated. :)
As I mentioned in my post (I take it as a compliment that you missed the text :D ),
this is with Hasselblad 250mm/f4 on A900, manual flash to compensate for back lit Sun.

As for my photography "skills", I owe it to this forum in general and GIYBS in particular. You all helped
me understand fundamentals better, lead with examples, and always willing to impart your collective
wisdom. So yes, I have been a student of a hands on course called Give It Your Best Shot. :)

With best regards,
Sury

Gio67, that's a great shot of your grandson. Make sure it shows up in his wedding reception slide show some day.

Thank you for the kind words! I'm not sure what you meant by the last bit though.

Here's another of my beautiful wife, Elise. I took this one on our honeymoon in Italy five years ago:

Kevin,
Indeed it is a beautiful capture of a beautiful face.
Apropos my comment on your previous post, I found it on my monitor that
her forehead is white (ish) while rest of her face is delicate pink. It was almost
like the forehead has been over exposed (and lacking texture).

Wit best regards,
Sury

Great colors and use of DOF Kevin. The portrait feels very peaceful due to the 'softness' of the colors and tone. Very nice portrait.
