Your mind may be a raging torrent, Ken M, but that shot is a head spinner, in a complimentary way.

Great close-up, Ken! Which reminds me that I'm more than willing to publish other Sony Alpha users pictures at my photo blog. Sadly, there has only been a few of them. There talented people in this forum and I know many who could share their work, if interested..
Ken: I do understand that you posted the picture on a wrong thread, no worries, it's a great and colorful picture. Not a pinball machine is it? Something similar..

Week 34, Saturday - The Green Lodge
"Sometimes you find yourself in odd places. Some time ago I had a chance to sleep couple of nights in a Finnish hotel that had really interesting atmosphere and outlook. Located in the middle of the forest in a place with no particular meaning, it reminded me of the 'Black Lodge' which is a dreamy fictional setting featured in the television series Twin Peaks. It is also known as the red room, an extra dimensional place, where Agent Cooper goes and meets with the dwarf (which speaks backwards), the giant and the Bob. Much in the same way, although it was green, this hotel had an odd atmosphere where time had stopped somewhere in the 70s, karaoke songs were playing in empty hall, people were over-friendly strangers and I had difficulties to understand why I was there (another story). While the Black Lodge is located in agent Coopers dreams, I was, much like agent Cooper, trying to find idea inside my head how to capture this odd place.
When people think of ultra-wide lenses, they automatically consider them to be specialized lenses for certain kind of tasks like architecture photography. While this is the half truth, it also [...]"

Thanks Toni. I added you to my Flicker account, but thats not a close up! The game is actually about 10 feet tall and the round piece in the middle is about 1 and a half feet across. But deceiving isn't it!!

Wonderful close-up picture, Toni. Love the colours and details, as well as the pov.
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.

Deceiving indeed! So much that I still have problems to perceive from the picture!Ken M wrote:Thanks Toni. I added you to my Flicker account, but thats not a close up! Week 35, Wednesday - The Great Divide
"'To see a world in a grain of sand and a heaven in a wild flower. Hold infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour' - words of William Blake which describe, not only the amazement of nature, but the amazement of macro photography as well. In everyday life, it is easy to bypass the most smallest details and mundane things, but when one focuses on them he will find a another world full of details. In its essence macro photography leans on this continuing process of finding new worlds that are, because of their size, situated beyond our eyesight. Luckily modern photography allow us to cross over this great divide which separates man from the world of insects and other small species. What we find is another layer [...]"

Thanks Sury! I took me a bit of intervention with my finger to get the ladybird into right place. Luckily she was calm and didn't just flew away like many others that I've disturbed!sury wrote:Nice and nicely used negative space.

Week 35, Saturday - The Warning
"There is a snake at top ceiling in one of the churches in my home town. It's different from all the churches I've ever visited, because the other churches often have something heavenly painted in their ceilings or they are without pictures. This snake was painted by Hugo Simberg, a Finnish symbolist painter, at 1905–06. The other frescos he did for that particular church, like The Garden of Death and The Wounded Angel, were also controversial at their time. While his frescos and decoration are interesting as a whole, I find the snake at top of the church and above the religious community to be most interesting of them all. There are different interpretations about the meaning [...]"
