Flowers 2014

Unread post by sury »

Keeping up with 2014 spirit and sharing the "burden" of starting new year thread, I suggest
we post all our flower images here. BTW, I suggest a small twist, that they don't
have to be necessarily taken in 2014, but post processed in 2014 lest you find something
in your archives that is helped by the latest (versions of the) software for post processing.

With best regards,
Sury

This is a continuation of focus painting effort. I realized this would have been better done
in day light so that I can show (off) the bokeh. Anyway, this is a 61 image attempt using
MD Tokina 80200ATX at 200 and f2.8, each shot at 1/5th second on a tripod.

Same shot with f32 and 13s.

ye if could keep the brilliance of the yellow in the first, but keep the crispness of the 2nd, it would be allot better.
The ghosting on the first image around the flowers doesn't translate well across different monitors.

Darren and Andy,
Thank you. Darren, let me see if I can get the first one tad sharper. It was a large stack. I need to see which subset is the cause for ghosting. How about this one?

Lovely flower macro Ken, and also congratulations!

It is our 20th this year too. Thankfully I still have a few months to plan something. I wonder if she'd like the 135 STF ? It is relatively shiney and definitely expensive. ;)

Andy. Congratulations in advance. Be careful, she may "force" you to wear it around.

Congratulations from me to all celebrating their anniversaries as well. :D

Birma, since nobody tied your hands, hid the batteries and your frost-protective boots to keep you from stepping out in early hours of the day, looks like we're bound to enjoy your many grand shots. Going for the STF for yourself may result in you being grounded though, if you actually pronounce it as a shiny, lovely, sparkling anniversary gift for the better half... : )

Thanks for sharing the lovely flowers and the stacking methods....

Thank you Yildiz :) .

Now that we are in February spring can not be far away and so I was looking out for Snowdrops in the local woods at the weekend. As the winter has been mild they are starting to appear. Perhaps they will be open by next weekend?
