Here is another North Dakota landscape. We never seem to run out of old building!

Ken, nice shot but is a bit over processed for my liking.

I love the wheat field Ken. Your grandchildren are adorable
and perfect capture of their innocence and inquisitiveness.
It could be my monitor at work but I see a tad more red in the
image.

Thanks for the pointers. I'm still trying to learn this as I go. I admit sometimes I get a bit overboard. I'm trying to figure out how you folks get that wet glossy look ( not sure of the technical word ) in some of you photos. Like the photos you did of the city lights in your one post.

Yes but I didn't remember where they were from. I just remember they are sweet!

I forgot to add I just bought a new monitor on Wednesday. It's an HD 1080 and wow what a difference it made. I now have to redo quite a few of my photos because of being over done like you said. It's crazy the difference it made in the way all photos look on line now. I'm slowly trying to get where I need to be to do this correct.

Here's a shot of a Quechua village up in the Andes at about 14,000 feet.

Dramatic shot, Jeff. It is so arid at that altitude.

Interesting shot Jeff. Is it a mining town?

I rather like the effect of the old building.

Thanks for the comments Sury and David. The Pacific side of the Andes is very dry and although this is up pretty high, it's still on the Pacific side so it gets a lot less moisture. I understand that the grass is green in January and February as that is when it gets the little amount of rain that comes. Keep in mind that currently (August) it's winter here in Peru.

No it's not mining. It's alpaca and llama herding. The new building in the front is probably the school while the older stone buildings among the stone corrals are their houses. I might add that they don't have heat or a fire place and much of the cooking is done outside to keep the smoke out of the house.

Also, the Quechua people are the descendants of those in the Incan Empire.

Fascinating. So essentially they keep themselves warm covering up.
Does it get very cold?
