With new found confidence I ventured out (more like ventured in the house) with A77M2 and Vivitar 90mmf2.5 and MD/MA adapter

Sury, does are you using an MD/MA adapter with glass or without glass.

And lovely colors.

Jeff,
I used both the variants. In the above set, the first 2 are with glass, and the last one is without.
Similarly the first one below is with the glass and the second one is without the glass.

With MD/MA glass adapter

I've read that the adapters with the glass element are subpar, but from looking at these photos, I don't see that. The glass adapter seems sharp enough. What insights do you have regarding the quality of the glass adapter? I like the idea of having infinity focus capability but have strayed away from the glass adapter thus far.

I read about them too being subpar. But, the price difference was around $5 dollars so I got one anyway. They are ok when you use
flash, since flash will compensate for any loss due to glass element. I had good luck with it even without flash and in good light.
This one with flash is not too bad though not a flattering composition of my daughter, the details are not lost. I lowered the contract a tad to make it a bit softer, btw.

Well, it looks like when I get back to the States that I might have to get one and try it out for myself. Thanks for the insight.
