Night Shots

Unread post by sury »

Not my usual type but on a recent trip to Las Vegas and Grand Canyon.
Nothing redeeming but the A900 still did fine with CZ24-70. Handheld in manual mode.

I know, I know, JB, that 135/1.8 would have done much better. :D

Great colours in the buildings - particularly in number 3.

Never mind the 135, what about some IBIS, such as that in the A7R mk2 :)
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.

Very nice, Sury.

A little different from the usual Las Vegas shots of glamour and frontal entrance scene views we know, by having been photographed where all the buildings sort of cram into each other, probably where all the back streets and service entrances are situated.

I like the crammed look in the first one the most, with the pseudo-Eiffel Tower in the middle-back. And I think the straight lines need corrected by rotating the frames a little to the left. If you used a tripod, that could be the reason for consistent tilt that appear in all frames.

Thanks for sharing,

Thank you Yildiz. These are hand held shots and the way I am holding camera could be the reason for consistent tilt.
Thank you JB. Those were taken with CZ24-70. Just saying. :)

Yes, I saw that. I rented that lens for a trip to Bandon Dunes back in 2011. It's a fine piece of glass but I have the Sigma 24-70 and it still meets my needs. I would love to get a 24-105 @ 2.8 but nobody makes one ( I think).

I agree. The CZ weighs a lot. I have a Tamron 24-70 f2.8 and it is no comparison.

Very nice shots Sury. Always nice to see Vegas at night.
Thanks for sharing.

Not been since 93, did make Street Vibrations Reno last
September, plan on going this year. Small town compared
to Vegas. (♠_♦)

David,
Thank you and indeed, Reno is small compared to LV every which way. It used to be far more vibrant in 90s and
fell aside over time. What is Street Vibrations Reno? Just curious. Also will you be flying into San Francisco?

The word vibrations was a trigger that it would be bike related. Kind of like rolling thunder. One day, I will document a trip to such a place.
Sturgis, maybe?
