Out of the ordinary - Open to all

I want to start a new topic that is (hopefully) broad enough for all to participate.
Post your out of the ordinary images here. They could be your technique, subject
or anything you would consider atypical.

This elephant statue has been with us for few years and I never felt anything other than
ordinary. You may say the same. Ho hum. An Indian having a statue of elephant. But....
If you look close enough there is another elephant inside the first one and the whole thing
is a single piece of wood. The artisan(s) would work through the outer lattice to carve out
the inner elephant. By the way it was taken with a Pentax 300mmf4 lens and a M42 adapter on
A900 from a distance of about 10 feet.

Great to idea for a thread, Sury! I will have to get my thinking cap on.

I like the elephant. Amazing that someone could carve a second statue inside the first.

I also notice the cricket bat in the background to continue the Indian theme :)

Thank you Andy. The cricket bat is an autographed by Kapil Dev (for those in the know) and is a miniature bat.
In our household, my younger brother and Missus are the cricket fans. I am atypical Indian in that sense. As you
would say it is not "my cup of tea". :D

Is this ordinary? Perhaps. But not my usual style. But here it is.

Kapil Dev - I'm not a big cricket fan, but I'm impressed :) An awesome bowler.

Now, in your latest picture, a bucket of wine?! That is just showing off :)

Andy,
Thank you. I think this would be showing off, don't you think?
Both are from a winery in Sonoma county (shire?) called Iron Horse Winery.
Nestled in hills on a hill top. I have an image that I will post in landscape thread.

 I guess it is better to be biting the snake, than the snake biting you?

And perhaps it tastes like chicken.... That is the common expression describing any
exotic meat people try, at least in US. That was true with Alligator bites I tried once. :)

Very nice set of photos sury.

The Ratlesnake bites are certainly out of the ordinary for me.
The pregnant elephant is also a first. Must say that is quite a
work of art. Future candidate for the antique road show on
PBS. ʘ‿ʘ

California Winery’s put out superb wines. Is the Iron Horse
worth a try sury?

I took this on the way home from my trip. Had to park somewhat
illegally on HWY 17 under the new Port Mann Bridge, to photo the
last remnants of the old Port Mann.

Nice shot DA. It is as if you were off the working bridge to get this shot.
We did not try of their wines (having already spend couple of hours at
Merry Edwards and Dutton & Goldfield) but went for their Sparkling wines.
The Wedding Cuvee was the favorite of the lot. Russian River Valley of
Sonoma has excellent wines and views. Dutton & Goldfield tasting room
is an exception. It is on the main thoroughfare but they offer Sushi & Wine
pairing, which I have not heard of, before. Thank you for your kind words.
As for wines go my favorites are Sterling Vineyards, Rutherford, Mondavi,
Duckhorn, Saban Estates (in central coast).
In my book, wines, Tequila, Ports, Cognac and Scoth come in 4 types:
Good ones, bad ones, ones you like and ones you dont like.
But to a Scot, I am told, there is no such thing as a bad Scotch. :)

I was in Kabukicho, Tokyo a few days ago and discovered that Godzilla is peeking over a new building there!

It reminds me of this Godzilla haiku.

All of them were taken with 135/f1.8. I was thinking if that lens was a niche lens
for portraits and tried it for landscape as well.
