At the beach in Mejía and Punta de Bonbóm
These are some of the birds I saw at the beach. I believe the first is a snowy egret and the last is a turkey vulture. I'm unsure of the birds in the second photo. Also, the nictitating membrane can be seen on the vulture.

Excellent sets Jeff. Especially the last two scenes of the ocean are fabulous.

Thanks Sury. Here's some more: an anemone?, a crab, and some birds and a cyclist.

Lovely pictures Jeff
Great detail on the birds, beautiful light on the ocean, and great detail from the rock pools. Seems like a perfect day at the beach.

Thanks Andy. It was a great time. What's better than a man, his camera, and something to shoot?

Pizza maybe?
Love the first bird shot.
I think the man on bike shot could benefit from some cropping but you caught something special.
Happy New Year.

JT, "pizza maybe."
That shot of the guy with his bike was 300mm. I probably could crop it, but I really wished I owned a longer lens. Here's another shot before he got too far away, as fate would have it he turned around just as I took the shot. I think I would like it better had he not turned around.

.
Very nice shots all, Jeff.
A happy photographer with pizza in hand may have become the target of those hungry seagulls that appear very busy around humans on the beach and we may never have enjoyed these lovely shots, for his trying to save his pizza and himself. (just kidding)
The third ocean shot is very dreamy and almost reminding of winter weather on the water... All lovely subjects and shots.
Thnas for sharing,
Yildiz

Thanks Yildiz. I don't think a carrying food on that beach would've been wise. Anyone remember the old Alfred Hitchcock movie "Birds."

Indeed. Who could forget the suspicious acts of flock-perching and gatherings that finally resulted in attacks on humans ? One of Alfred Hitchcock's best films after my favourite North By Northwest filmed with Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint and James Mason.the_hefay wrote:Thanks Yildiz. Some 'suspicious' number of seagulls in the last shot. Impressive.
Thanks for sharing,
Yildiz

Great shots, Jeff. It's a bit warmer there than Wyoming, eh?

It is a Gallinazo: https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coragyps_atratusthe_hefay wrote: I believe the first is a snowy egret and the last is a turkey vulture.
Photo pca-_DSC2057.jpg is really nice.
I've never been in Arequipa's coast (just once, long time ago, on my way to Tacna...)
Enjoy!
