Good evening folks. Recently, I find myself trying to crop these images to find something more personal.
The ice block and the drummer are prime examples where one can find an image within the image. Crop the ice line at the top, and the drum stick and I bet you will see something different and worthy.
They are fine works on their own. Still, I can find something else.

Yes, donuts! I often use the 500mm Mirror Reflex at outdoor festivals so that I can get in close without being intrusive. But that also means that I can expect to get those donuts. Some people like them, others don't. But I don't mind them as long as they work. :)

With a mirror lens though, if the background is too close to the in-focus subject, instead of donuts, the bokeh can get choppy in the high contrast areas, like in the upper corners of the portrait below. But I still prefer to carry this lens around all day at a festival, rather than my heavy 70-200mm with a 2x teleconverter.

I understand what you're saying. I also do that from time to time, and can sometimes get two or three different compositions from the same photo.

Your last image is a fine example of my point. Crop her at the shoulder and something else happens.
Our equipment catches us sometimes. Even within those constraints, we can find beauty.

Found this while digging around on my hdd. It's a self-portrait with my a580 IR camera.

Nice. Looks like something one might expect from Interview with the Vampire.

Nice shots Valery. Not vampires but I need to know if that is Jason in the hockey mask. :)

Thank you Sury, the_hefay!
I do not know these people(only the mayor), but they definitely wanted to be in the photo. :)

Today, the first time "walking" on the report Minolta 80-200mm AP APO HS.
Perfect AF speed, but it still takes a little getting used to it especially to the weight of the lens.
