Our club recently held its annual Panel of six competition. One of my themes involved images of flowers. Here is the panel and I am pleased to say that on the night it won the competition. It now goes on to represent the club in an inter-club competition in the autumn.

Excellent shots Ossie. I love the drop shadow effect on #3. You still cannot share BBCode from Flickr?

Lovely new set, Sury. :) Some vivid colours we would like to see here in Istanbul as well. We have very low tepratures and very shy flowers under a cloudy sky.

Ossie, these flower shots are well worth the recognition they received and went on to represent you further in the competition. :)
Interesting processing; prestine with post card quality. Good work!

Thanks for sharing with us and congratulations. : )

Edited:24.03.2017- Apologies to Ossie for addressing him as Marcell in the unedited version of this post. I do hope he is not offended by this mistake. : )

Excellent shots guys. While technically not a flower, this cactus has some symmetry similar to a flower. Taken with my newly acquired Panasonic GF7 since the A77ii is in the repair shop.

Very nice shot, Jeff.
This is what I found on web: Cacti are flowering plants, so every kind of cactus is capable of blooming when it is mature. Whether or not an individual cactus plant blooms depends on its age and the care it gets. Some cacti don't bloom until they are more than 30 years old.
Based on the above description you are compliant with the thread theme, not that we insist on compliance.

:) Thanks Sury. And yes this variety does have blossoms, nice red blossoms. However, the day I took this shot there was one cactus that had wilted blossoms and several with little buds. I really need to go back, but the rain here this week has been horrendous.

Hi Ossie; :)

In a previous post that praised your beautiful, artful work on flowers, I, by mistake, addressed you as Marcell, who also is a very esteemed member of our group of finest photographer members. :) I do hope you are not offended by this mistake, Dear Ossie, and understand.

I apologize profoundly. :) And, thank you, Sury, for notifying me.
