I agree with JT and Yildiz. I keep going back to the 2nd flower and wondering how did you manage to get such sharpness and details.

Aster , I use natural light (

JBTaylor did excellent work especially with the light) . Another trick - try to take any picture (not only flowers), early in the morning or later, just before sunset. Do not use much strong contrasting light in the forehead. It's that simple, I use Xiaomi phone
and did set up a little in Faststone Image Viewer. There are pictures with a99-2 and a77-2, of course with the best bokeh, but as you see, the right light did its job.
Last shot from a99-2 + Minolta 80-200.

If I had thinner skin, after looking at that second picture I would have thrown away my gear and go into mountains.
Lucky for me, I have a thick skin.
I will hang in there and practice more.

I really like second shot! You can cut of left leafs in photoshop or other editor and it'll excellent shot (but it's just my opinion! ) !

I was looking through the shelf with MD and Pentax 135 lenses and found Rokinon 85f1.4 MF MA mount lens. I guess I put there accidentally by looking at the back and not seeing contacts. Anyway, I thought I will give it a try (don't even remember when I
bought it, very likely before I acquired CZ135f1.4). JT, you are right. That CZ135 will make you forget everything else.
Here are some examples. I am still trying to learn its behavior.

I have used the ZA 85mm, the Minolta 100mm Macro, and the Sony 70-200mm G for flower photography. All with decent results. They all have limitations (as we all know) and it usually comes down to minimum focus distance. The 100mm can get you close but I rarely gravitate to that lens. Maybe I will give it a try.
The 135mm just looks right to me despite the composition challenges. I might not rely on it as much if not for that life saving adjustable screen on the a99. Every camera should have one.

Thank you for fixing the image. It certainly reinforced my other choice. Anytime, please feel free to tweak. I would not be offended. Even it is your opinion, it is good to know different perspectives. Helps me broaden my horizon.

Very true. This is a ~$300 lens I believe. I bought it a while ago before I acquired the CZ135. I may not have had good luck mostly due to my skills or lack thereof. I was quite pleased with the results. I am planning to put it on A99M2 and see how it fares.

Love the colors and can see the challenge in using that lens.
I have been wanting (not a need) a longer macro. Mulling over
CZ15-35, Tamron 15-30 and Sigma 180Macro.

JBTaylor, those lilies look perfect in both lights, that's how beautiful they are; the texture on the petals are very neat. But it may be a good idea to wake up early for some photography while the flowers last.
They are gorgeous.
I think that Sony 100mm macro has a good take on these beauties. What are the constraints that Sury mentioned, I have no idea.
