Kotor, Budva, Montenegro

Unread post by sury »

Our next port of call was Kotor and with a trip to Budva in Montenegro. This is another gem of a country with fantastic natural beauty.

Entering the harbor of Kotor. The ship was anchored and we were taken ashore on a tender. As you enter the bay, it splits left and right as you see it. Left is Kotor and to the right is Budva. Imagine the bay to be alphabet "A" and the tip being the mouth of the bay. There is a beautiful road connecting Kotor with Budva through mountains.

Early morning as we were entering the bay towards Kotor.

From the town of Kotor. Other side of the striated hills is Budva. The orange color boats are the ships tender to transport us back and forth.

Beautiful panos, Sury. I think your love for panos are equally justified by the actual sceneries. :) Water, woods, clouds and rocky mountains make the best combination as subjects. The blues and greens are so refreshing. And, you chose good vantage points and angle coverage.

I definitely envy you your trip, with 'tears' in my eyes! :D

Yildiz,
Thank you. I get it. I will cut down on the panos. :D Just kidding.

Within the walled city of Kotor.

Market inside the walled town.

Port of Kotor. The distant ship was ours. This was taken from the (moving) bus.

On our way to Budva which is on the other side of the hills. Bottom right is Kotor. You can see the snaking road connecting Budva and Kotor.

Hi, Sury;

These coastal small villages/towns hidden away in valleys surrounded by hills are part of a very landscape and create beautiful vistas for the observer. We don't mind your panos at all and some are very good. :)

Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work!

Yildiz,
Thank you Yildiz. "We don't mind your panos at all and some are very good". Only some? Just kidding.

Kotor to viewer's right. Budva and Port of Montenegro to viewer's left.
Image

A variation of the above.

This one is an experiment I did with Jaya "frozen" during the overlapping shots of her during pano scan. The T-shirt is the
commemorative souvenir of our reunion. At the far end behind Jaya is the mouth of the bay.

I can almost hear your joker's laughter when your panos are the focus! :D
But, dear Sury, your 3rd pano 'cut off' Jaya's left hand that probably was resting on the barrier. :D Not fair!

The vistas are breath taking and I can only imagine how fresh the air must have been there. :) Nice celebratory t-shirts, too. Long friendships are so nice...

Yildiz

Yildiz,
Good point about the 3rd pano. I missed it completely. I will take a look at that afresh. Thank you for that subtle "jab".

You can see the glimpse of Budva to your right. The island you see has an exclusive resort and is a hunting ground for celebrities who seek privacy from the peering paparazzi.

Certainly lovely!
The clouds are so near in the second shot. :) I like them all but the sea views are very nice.

Amazing places, Sury, with ancient history and fabulous nature blending with each other and the modern men find a unique spot for escapism … :)

The sea bed is visible from this height, the water is that clear! :) Enjoying the photos very much, Sury, thanks for creating the thread.
Are folks and tourists allowed to swim in these coves?

Yildiz,
Yes, they are allowed in these waters. The following images are taken as we are leaving the Montenegro.

This one is from the moving boat.
