I am now retired now and looking forward to learning through the osmosis method via this forum. I have a great interest in photography and hope to improve
what skills I may have. My equipment is a Sony A350 with the standard Kit Lens [ 18-70 3.5-5.6, 75-300 4.5-5.6, Minolta AF 50mm 1.7 ]. I also have a Olympus C5050 Zoom which I utilize for macro work until I get a good macro lens.

Hmmm...that looks like Florence! Back in May I went there and took my new a700 with the 18-70 kit lens and (not new) Minolta 50/1.7 and 70-210/4. Welcome to the forum! This is a wonderful place to learn as there is a wealth of knowledge and experience concentrated in a fairly small forum population...I couldn't begin to convey how much it has helped me to improve my understanding of photography and the Sony/Konica-Minolta system since I joined. Forget osmosis, beware of cytolysis!

Hi and welcome Roger.
I agree with Kevin and will just add that though we might be a small community (compared to Canon users) but, you see, in nature too eagles are scant compared to rats...

Welcome! I spent a lot of time in Vancouver (still own a downtown condo there) from 2000 to 2006. During those years I stayed there for a total of about 2.5 years. Maybe I will get back again next year. I never got around to riding a ferry from Tsawwassen, but I did several times from Horseshoe Bay. British Columbia is beautiful.

Nice to meet everyone. The photo was taken from the top of the Basilica in Florence. I had to climb 480 + well worn steps to reach the top.
When I take a photo I like to capture interesting angles, this was no exception. I was there in May 2008 as well [ Rick Steves tour " Best of Europe in 21 days ]
I really enjoy photographing the architecture.
