Hello all,
I am glad to be in this forum.
My name is Anna. I am a software testing engineer who loves art, photography and cinematography and spends spare time on improving photography skills.
I use Sony a55 camera with two kit lenses - 18-55mm and 55-200mm. This is my first camera, and I am looking forward enjoying its photo and video capabilities.

Welcome Anna jan,
Welcome from another person who is also new to this forum and of course with A55. Enjoy your new camera. I think you already notices a very short battery life, I have some kind of solution that problem with en external battery. If you want more details let me know.
Aram

Aram Aha, that reminds me, Aram, you should make a shot of that "device" you made and put it here in this forum. Which makes me think: why wouldn't we ask David to add a new section for DIY stuff and clever solutions?

I think it is a good idea.
I think, I'll post the picture of that "device" soon, just need to give it a better look.

Aram, do that as a step-by-step procedure. Meanwhile I asked David, if possible or necessary, to open a new section on DIY (do it yourself) stuff and clever solutions. If accepted, then it would be a nice place to put your shots of that device.

Thank you Harout, Armen, Aram and Mr Alpha for the warm words. I have already done my first shots and video. I liked my 55-200mm. 18-55mm is also nice. The video is very decent. I'll post the pics and videos soon. p.s. 2 days ago I found an interesting article. Maybe you have already read it. However I would like to share it. I think I made a good choice buying a55. http://photocinenews.com/2011/01/06/3734/
