I’ve came recently to Minolta/Sony by quite a circuitous route travelled over the last 50 years. Zeiss Ikon/Contax/Yashica Contax/Sony R1/Sony A100 and, of course, the thread running through them all is Carl Zeiss. Now I’ve started a journey backwards through time to earlier film Minoltas.

I’ve been collecting and using vintage stuff for half a century but, sad to say, Minolta has never figured much in my hobby – until now. I have much ground to make up

I'm much looking forward to Sony's next offerings.

You will find some of the earlier Minolta lenses very interesting. Quite unlike Zeiss, but equally good in their different way. I hope you get a chance, one day, to find a 1960s 100mm f2. They are very rare but one of the best SLR lenses ever made.
