I want call them cheap but they will be less expensive and of lower quality. Obviously because of there price point. I have yet to find anything cheap about photography. The SAM (Smooth Auto focus Motor) recently announced my Sony.

Today I got several calls regarding this and I figured I would ask the experts here. Will the ADI/SSM Update in the 9 control these lenses?

Yes, they will have exactly the same protocol as the SSM lenses. That is for sure. But they are all - so far - only APS-C and not full frame, so their use on the 7 and 9 etc film cameras is very limited.
