Message from Jacub, a Polish friend from the Minolta Forum at Yahoo groups:
Hi All,
Hope you're all doing well.
Back in 2008 i purchased from Adorama (thanks for help Pako) this amazing lens
and last Saturday it was stolen from my apartment. Although I live in Poland, I
wanted to warn all of you, especially living in neighboring countries (not sure
if anyone from Poland is still here) about the following lenses:
- Minolta AF 400mm f4.5 HS APO G, Adorama SKU# US-308078-E+, aluminum case
which has the SKU sticker on it.
- Konica-Minolta AF 28-75mm f2.8 (D) S/N:30406946
- Konica-Minolta AF 17-35mm f3.5-5.6 (D) S/N:10424154
- Konica-Minolta AF DT 18-70mm f3.5-5.6 (D) S/N:42522444
- Sigma AF 24-135mm f2.8-4.5 S/N:1007207
- Minolta MD Tele Rokkor-X 200mm f2.8, Gemko 1A filter, 72mm - no S/N
- Sony DSLR A700 S/N: 5022645
- Sony DSLR A100 S/N: 509982
The list of lenses and cameras is much longer, but I'm just mentioning ones that
are most rare or have S/Ns - pretty much all my Manual Minolta collection is
gone.
I'd appreciate if you keep your eyes open - the 400mm has to come to surface
sometime (I hope).
Greeting from Poland!
/Jakub:)
ps. I have some pictures of only some of the stolen items:

Re: Stolen Equipment
That's a shame, but Alpha equipment, especially in Poland, out top be easy to track. Tell him to watch e-bay and anything like Craigslist that they may have over there. And to get a dog! Best defense against theft ever!

Re: Stolen Equipment
Mafia make equipment turn quickly to other countries/regions.
That equipment is probably already in another Central Europe country, Russia or North Africa.

Re: Stolen Equipment
Locally here. stuff like this goes on craigslist and is gone in a matter of a few hours. a crook can steal something post it at a very hot price then pull the ad down as soon as there is a credible response. sometimes only in minutes..
