Yes, I still think exactly the same way! The current A77 EVF is quite good and as I have said here before I could get by with it, but it is still not really good enough, I think, so I am hoping the tech will get better and totally expect it will. It would be nice to have tiltable EVF like on the Minolta D7i though. Bring on a fantastic EVF! Sony, also, please, please fix your quality problems.

Yes Barry you could say that first one was quite prophetic with the EVF evolution, but it was the evaluation of Sony’s marketing and distribution ability in combination with overall strategy and timely execution that was optimistic in hindsight, to say the least.
It’s those failures I think (along with some QC and functional problems) that have limited Sony. One could also say they don’t appear to have adopted a presence as a reliable and dependable still camera system maker, yet, or project an image of one, one with an overall system strategy; they seem to dabble with different approaches at different times and don’t quite do a complete job of anything, leading to confusion in the A-mount customer user base…mores the pity.

Greg I don't doubt Sony's distribution they surely have that fairly well nailed down (well they should do being such a large company)
Marketing wise I suppose it's down to taste I don't really take much attention on adverts be it magazine or tv. I have seen Sony ads for NEX and SLT models I suppose they are ok, but not much different to say Panasonic Lumix ones. I don't find photo adverts very appealing or maybe I'm so narrow minded they don't influence me.

We should start a camera ads thread

The ads are good from both Minolta and Sony but I don’t remember ever seeing those on TV before, not even the Minolta ones. Of course in this day and age you could easily get the advert for the Sony if you wanted to view it, most likely at the Sony Style site, but then the next step is actually handling the camera and there is nowhere here in Townsville that have ever had an A900 in stock so one is stuck with getting it over the internet sight unseen if one wanted one, and it’s the same with lenses, it’ll be a day to remember if I ever see a 70-400G sitting on a shelf in a camera store.
I’m not overly impressed with Sony’s distribution abilities, not when I have seen so many people say they have no access to see any Sony camera or lens, especially lenses. Yes I suppose in this day and age you could just buy it off some internet el-cheepo never heard of before place without handling the camera or lens beforehand, but what if you have some problem with the gear? It’s not as good as physically being able to take it back too the camera shop in town is it?
