Re: Blast from the Past - Camera Adverts
I remember that in 1988 a friend in Japan had one of those Olympus AZ-300 cameras. A few times while we were out doing things on the weekend she asked me to use it to take a photo of her. This year in the spring in Japan I saw one at a used camera shop. Very cheap, of course.

I was at a used shop today and I saw a few cameras that in the past I had wanted. All three appeared to be in excellent condition with no scratches or anything. They all looked new, but that is pretty common in Japan. Anyway, here is what caught my eye:
Pentax 6x7 + ttl metering prism + 90mm f2.8 -- 30,000 yen ($283)
Mamiya RB67 Pro-S + 127mm f3.5 -- 15,000 yen ($141)
Olympus E-20 digital -- 2000 yen ($19)
Of course, no plans to buy them, but they were all cameras that I had wanted at one time or another and all quite expensive back then.
