Doc, yes, my birthday is imminent, just a few more hours. It is going to be really cool to find out what the 30s are going to be like. Thank you very much!

Thanks guys, and happy returns to Henry too, I am touched that you still remember me after all this time.

We have had a rough couple of days, not only did our elderly guinea pig pass away, but we lost my long time landscape companion Pippin to cancer.
We bred her, so she was with us since birth - this is one of my favourite pictures of her (I am sure it was taken with my A700)

All the best

Hi Paul - very sorry to hear about your two pets.

That is a lovely portrait of Pippin, I especially like the fade to black background and the catch lights.

Glad you are still popping by to check on us here. If I remember you'd moved to Nikon? Have you moved up to the D600/610 yet or maybe the D800?

Hi Birma,

Yes still with Nikon D7000, thinking about full frame later this year but not sure which one. I see you have the A99, I was talking to a guy that runs a rental firm at a camera show and he was full of praise for it, especially the dynamic range.
Here is a Tyneside sunrise with the Nikon - can get some lovely colours out of it

Best wishes

Hey sorry Murph, I thought you had forgotten us, nice pix. :D That’s the worst thing about pets, they are great to have but it’s terrible when they go. I like the street lights and dawn light on the right mixture, very atmospheric.

Happy birthday to you both Paul and Henry! :D

Glad to see that some of our youngest members finally enjoying their late twenties.... :D Hope you enjoy your special day.

Paul, I'm very sorry to hear of Pippin's passing. This wonderful photo of Pippin won a challenge if my memory serves me right. Lovely creature and was always a good sport for photo shoots of yours.

Lovely shot with the Nikon also. I hope we see you around more.

Thanks for sharing,

Yildiz

We have definitely missed your Tyneside pictures Paul. The colours in that one are great. Fabulous sky! Yes, the dynamic range on the A99 is great. I have stopped using ND grad filters to balance skies being able to do this just with post processing now.
