Almost as new lens. Only had 3 outings. Great results. Very slight cosmetic imperfection on black plastic ring around glass. Retired it so that a shorter lens could be used in an underwater housing. On sale new at Warehouse Express for £336.99 http://www.warehouseexpress.com/buy-tam ... t/p1013812Will accept £250 o.n.o. The lens sold for £235.

Welcome to the forums Ian. Our members can look forward to your pictures in the magazine in a couple of weeks! I can vouch for the fact that you did not use this lens apart from tests really. It's hard to find a 'going rate' as so few appear on the used market.
Also, you might want to state whether you are VAT registered or not, I suspect you are which reduces the price for buyers outside Europe.
David

I can understand why so few turn up on the used market--it's a very nice lens to use. I'd be tempted by your price if I didn't already own one.

I am not VAT registered. The selling price will not include VAT. Thanks for vouching for its history, David. As you know, the camera was dedicated to a specific use, and never got properly used in anger before I decided to switch to one which is physically shorter. I use the same lens with a Nikon mount on my main crust-earning camera. Thanks for your recommendation of the lens, Kevin

Hi Ian, another welcome to the forum from me. I look forward to seeing your pictures in the mag soon. I take it that we are to be treated to some shots in, and around, the water? I am another happy user of the Tamron lens you are selling. It is probably my most used lens. For what it's worth, it gets a "highly recommended" from me .

Thanks for the welcome, Viceroy, and the endorsement of the lens. Yes my article is all about my low cost approach to underwater photography in a swimming pool, featuring my Aqua Babies and Aqua Babes. The a350 was the camera I needed to give me relatively big files, with a live view on a tilting screen. David Kilpatrick helped me greatly with his expert knowledge and advice.

A welcome from me too, Ian. Waiting for my copy of PhotoWorld to contemplate your shots.

The posters (active participants) are outnumbered considerably by visitors Ian. You may find no-one interested, or someone will drop in and find the post. It also takes time for Google to index posts here; usually a couple of days. When Google indexes the post, people searching for this lens may be directed to the posting.
It is a good idea also to use Google and just run a routine search yourself, to see what other advertised new or s/h prices apply, as these can be pretty rapidly changing.
David

Simplyelectronics.net offer it for less - but I would NEVER deal with this company, having done so once (anyone who reads the various online reports will understand why). They kept £600 of mine for four months after failing to deliver goods, and it took a LOT of hasssle dealing with their 'refund' system (non-existent unless threatened) to finally get a cheque out of them. Even a credit card chargeback was impossible because they had put their 'sale' through a third party, thereby avoiding any liability and making the credit card guarantees worthless.
