Alpha 200 AV cable

Unread post by masher »

Hi (hope I'm in the right bit of the forum),

I bought my dad an A200 for Christmas but unfortunately, he's managed to lose the AV lead.
He won't touch a computer, so the TV is the only way he can view his images.

I have scoured the Sony website, but can find no indication of this item being available separately.

I did see a cable for an A100 on eBay - available form Hong Kong. Would this be suitable (not sure if the USB connector is the same)?

Any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated

Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark, and welcome to the forum.
Can't say about the AV lead, but does your TV have HDMI input? if yes, then go for a HDMI cable, which you'll surely find at Sony stores.

The A200 does not have an HDMI connector. The AV cable for the 100, 200, 300, 350 is identical.

Many thanks for the prompt replies.

My dad's telly doesn't have HDMI inputs.

But thanks for confirming the A100 cable is the same as the A200. I'll order that one from eBay postwith.

BTW, nice forum. As a Canon user, I'm not likely to have much input (except when my dad has something he can't fathom out), but I may lurk around if that's OK.
Particularly impressed with some of the fantastic shots in the Gallery.

Cheers

Well, Mark, you don't HAVE to stay with that inferior equipment. You can always trade it in for Sony gear! :D

An a700, an a550 and couple of a580s, plus even more lenses (Zeiss included!).
