What do the different forum topic icons signify?
The scolling one seems to relate to a busy thread. What about the Blue one, and the addition of a star?

In the board index the blue ones are forums you've been to before and don't contain posts you haven't read yet. red are ones you haven't been to or haven't read all the posts in. In a specific forums red icons are posts you haven't read., blue ones you have and ones with stars are topics you have already contributed too at least once (they also have a scrolling text effect)

And if you flag up a warning for admin about spam posts, a triangle symbol appears and the entire post changes to pink - at least for admin.
