1.4 or 2x teleconvertor

was thinking of getting one of these for my sigma 70-200 2.8 zoom, not to use a lot, but when i am taking pictures of birds (the feathered variety of course) i think the extra reach will be good , does anybody use one and do you recommend it, whats are the good and bad points

Yes, I use the 2X - I also have the 1.4X but prefer the results of the 2X. I don't seem to notice the 1.4X as much. Both work as well on the Sigma 70-200mm as the Sony/Minolta worked on the SSM 70-200mm.

thanks david i was tipping towards the 2x now it,s my choice,
do all the camera functions work with them
