B+W slim filter do not work with CZ16-80

Unread post by Hobbitofny »

Hi

I purchased a thin B+W Filter. It shows in the image!!!

What was Zeiss thinking? NO filters at 16mm! Bad design.

At least the hood does not show.

I get this vignetting with or without a filter. I am using a B+W slim UV - the type with no front thread. It doesn't seem to improve if I remove the filter, there is still a sharp corner vignetting at 16mm. It's not destructive, I sometimes clone it out.

I read that you have that problem in your review. In fact I was surprised to read about it. So I double checked my lens and it does not have that problem at 16mm.

I am not sure why the difference between lenses.

It is troubling. Other wise I really like this lens.
