2 years ago Paul Genge hinted strongly to me that there was a 200 macro under development ...
of course not everything under development actually makes it to production quickly (see 500/4) if at all.

I tried mounting an extension tube to 100-400L and the result is not that predictable.

you will need too long of extension tube after 200mm ... , I think only real long macro lens can achieved this task (24MP pixel by pixel...).
