To upgrade or not? That is the question

Has any member here upgraded from a Sony 70-300mm G MkI to the MkII? I am thinking of changing but am wondering whether there will be a noticeable improvement in performance to justify the change.
The lens will be used with the A77MkI.
I would appreciate any feedback.
