Samsung to announce 12 MP cell phone

Samsung is rumored to be announce a new 12MP cell phone camera.

As the article says, they still can't do a good 3.2MP cell camera, but marketing rules, not engineering.

I actually got a new cellphone recently and investigated if I should get any of the 8Mpix ones. In the end I decided it's not good enough to be a selection criteria so I removed it. Used other criteria and ended up with just 3Mpix and no flash

Marketing rules on this one..sadly. Sony are just as bad too..they will be up to 12mp soon as well.
Numbers sell, and most folks honestly do think more mp=better quality, not just on camera phones.

I moved from Sony to Samsung for phones, have to say the U900 I have is not bad at all photo wise, forget low light..but outdoors fairly decent. Saying that I don't really take camera phones that seriously, but they have got better in some ways.
