To David: What compact do/would you carry?

I am basically into three systems depending on where I am going and what I can/will carry.
The lightest outfit basically consisted of a Panasonic LX2 and 3 depending on the need for "reach" LX2 or wide angle LX3. The LX2 has been "hijacked" by the wife and the LX3 is on its way on an exchange for the LX5 with 24-90mm instead of 24-60mm on the LX3. In no way will I consider a compact that does not start at 24mm so out goes the Canon and Nikon possibilities.
Up a notch will be the NEX system. My NEX-5 with 18-55 and 16mm with W/A extender will be augmented with NEX-7, 55-200 and the new adapter to accept Alpha lenses. Further lenses will be added when available.
I will retain my A580/550/350 and A700 until further notice.
This spread will give me maximum flexibility and all cameras can produce Alamy type quality.
On no account will I use a system or camera that does not allow for at least 24mm as starting point.
