Worth selling an RX1 for an R ?

Unread post by Dave Panno »

I shoot raw and jpeg and develop my best raws.

The change might cost $1000 but I really, really love the RX1.

Thoughts?

Hi Dave, welcome to the forum. I assume you are musing on upgrading to the RX1R from the RX1? From the few reviews I have read the RX1R does provide an improvement in the detail you can squeeze out, but will you notice? I think you either have to study a lot of comparison shots online, or try and rent one and compare yourself.
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.

Thanks Birma - that's probably right.

I had both to compare. I would say no. On subjects where the RX1R produced moiré, the RX1 also did - just very slightly less, indicating it already has a weak AA filter.

If you feel a need to change, try the A7R with 35mm f/2.8.
