Bad e-bay purchase?

Unread post by Javelin »

received earlier this week an add on lens. it's an olympus A-200 and was advertised as "never been used" and "still in box" well it's in not horrible shape except I think someone damaged the rear element from cleaning. (also it definatly has been used, quite a bit judging by the threads).

here is the rear element

The front element is perfect

Is there any help for that rear element ? I tried a lens pen on it and none of the marks moved. I think it may have been cleaned with something that etched the coating. but it's hard to tell.

So?
sent it back to the seller?
If you are still interested, I have one for sale -I got this one and the wide angle, that works perfectly on the Dimage A2, but I don't use the tele, just the X0.8 wide.

Regards
Pako
