My first and hopefully last Sony malfunction

Unread post by mikeriach »

My trusty Sony 18-250 which is usually on the A580 as used by the wife is playing up.
The focus ring rotation has become sticky and causes the connectiong drive pin to pop out of the slot. Same issue in the other bodies.

So it will be going somewhere shortly for a service.

I'll report back on repairer and quality when I get it back.

All my Sony SLT gear gone. Still got my RX100 though.

I admit the IQ is not the best but sometimes it is better to have a reasonable image of that magic moment than none at all.
It is very useful as a travel lens on the A580 which makes a decent compact package.
If I cant get it fixed then perhaps I need to search for a second hand Sigma 18-250 that DK is so keen on.
