Internal Battery & IR

Unread post by drluap13 »

Happy new yearl
I wonder if anyone can answer these Two questions:
Any idea how easy it is to access the internal bettery of the A700? I have a 5D & from other knowledgeable sources it would seem when it goes it is going to be expensive to get at it and replace it!
The second unrelated question is about Infra red - I have had some, although limited success with Infra red and the 5D - anyone try out a cokin 720nm or 760nm filter on the A700?
I have asked these questions on other forums with limited reply - just curious

Cheers

The internal battery of the Alpha 700 is, I believe, charged by the lith-ion or the mains adaptor. It has a very long life and it is a rechargeable cell not a fixed life one. If you leave the camera for a year, it may go flat, but it will recover if you insert a fully charged battery. You'll have to wait for responses on infra-red. Apparently it is not very sensitive but can just about manage it.
