Panorama with MS ICE
Here is a Pano stitched with MS ICE software. These are 13 images stitched by the software without any problems.
The images were taken with Sigma 70-300 APO lens on A900. All comments are appreciated.
with best regards,
Sury

I like it a lot! The exposures look good and sharp and I can't find any variance between them. Also, it's a pretty, almost pastoral scene, to boot. Great job!

Re: Panorama with MS ICE
Kevin,
Thank you very much for your kind words. The camera did all the work. All I did was to set to A mode and set the aperture
and let it work. ICE software also did a very good job, in my opinion.

Sury

You are too modest...I have seen flawlessly exposed and stitched panoramas that would make you wonder just what the photographer saw in that place. Yours stands out. It obviously has a purpose, the subject is interesting, and the landscape is wonderfully serene.

Re: Panorama with MS ICE
Thank you. It was the view from the back of a vineyard we go to frequently. It was nice winter afternoon with sunshine and I have already
tasted few wines. So serenity was within and without. I liked the splash of reds in the front and typical California brown/green hills.
I was thinking more of how A900 captures the dynamic range and the rest is history.

Re: Panorama with MS ICE
Sury, as you probably know, there is an element of risk in shooting panoramas in Aperture priority (or any other automatic exposure mode) as different frames could easily get different exposures. (For the same reason, manual WB is also advisable.) But your panorama is very evenly illuminated and so you managed very well to get away with the automatic exposure. (Excuse me if I have spelt out the obvious for you, only trying to be helpful.) Good effort. Thanks for sharing (and for generously showing us the A900’s capabilities).

Re: Panorama with MS ICE
Alfonso,
I agree with you about getting lucky yesterday. I read somewhere that A mode is better than Auto or S or M because
it is easier to PP an exposure variance due to shutter speed than due to DOF. Is there a better way of doing it other
than shoot fast before lighting changes?
Good suggestion about manual WB. I tend to be lazy regarding that one and ISO. Thanks for the tip.

Welcome sury,
A brand new member with a brand new A900! You'll have lots to share with us and all are welcome. You also initiated a nice manual lens thread for the A900.
I like the panoramic photo; nice colours and dynamic range.
Hope to see and read more of your experiences.

Re: Panorama with MS ICE
The recommended method for a panorama is to use manual exposure and the same aperture and to vary the speed if necessary.
I have only been attempting to do panorama's myself for a few weeks and have got nothing even close to what you have achieved. You have a good eye for a subject.

Re: Panorama with MS ICE
Isn't that accomplished by A mode where Camera is making sure the same amount of light is incident on the sensor?
That is what I did. Hmm!!! In the situation I was in; Wide open space and bright afternoon Sun, I could have gone with
f8/f11 instead of f5.6 (I think) to make sure I don't have FF issue and stil get similar amount of light.
I presume you mean setting Aperture fixed and changing shutter manually by manual exposure. Am I mistaken? If so,
could you please elaborare what you meant by manual exposure. Please understand I am trying to learn, that's why I am
asking so many questions.

Sury

Re: Panorama with MS ICE
It may be the recommended method to use manual for stitching most panos, but I have to say that MS ICE does an incredible job with A mode images. Here's an almost 180-degree 5-image pano from up in Wyoming (last August) using A mode on my A350 with the CZ16-80.
