Alpha 100 compactflash maximum raw files

Unread post by [email protected] »

Does anyone know what the maximum number of raw files is that can be contained on any size Compactflash card ? I have inserted a 8 Gb card and only 364 images are shown to be available. On a 1 Gb card it is 65 images, so I would have expected 8 * 65 = 520 available.

The Alpha 100 is possibly only seeing 4GB of card. Try formatting the card in the camera and see if it makes any difference. If not, format the card to FAT32 using a PC then try again. As far as I know the A100 can read cards up to 32GB with no problems, maybe 64GB. I have just tried a KM 7D (older than the A100) and it recognises a 16GB card full capacity.

Thanks David - formatting the card in the A100 has solved the problem.
Appreciate the help. Peter
