the person that took the pics NEEDS to learn how to use DOF, the 'defocus' can be poetic in other cases, but in this case it will be far more interesting to SEE more of the products.
:-/
BTW Doc, I don't see the "MS/SD card only" thing...

Yeah one of those 18 (est) buttons would have to be a WB button surely.

look at the hatch, it's not tall enough to permit a CF card, and then there are silhouettes of slots, left (towards the back of the camera) for MS and adjacent to it a slightly bigger one for SD.

I notice that Sony is probably quitting sliding switches, lots of buttons there, probably one is for SSS, but a toggling one. At the top, left to the LCD panel, next to the eye level finder another button, obviously for LCD/EVF switch, but again not a sliding one.
I can't yet figure out how to change quickly from Matrix to center weighted or spot.
Probably GPS will be included.
But I think they are still not incorporating the microwave for pizza...

Dr Harout stated above

It is not obvious from the transparent models shown, but there is also the mock-up on the Akihabara News that clearly show a similar arrangement to that found on the A700. This mock-up has fewer buttons, which made me originally think that WB had been omitted. The transparent model would indicate that one of all these buttons has got to be WB. As there are two wheels as well this has got to be the A700 successor and yet there are clear discrepancies with the transparent models. At first I thought that LV had been omitted but it is probably more likely that the sliding switch has been changed to a button as hinted at by Dr Harout. In any event I will not be a buyer. The A580 is fine for me and my focus will be on new NEX lenses and maybe a second body if one with a larger sensor is issued at some stage. I wonder what is meant by APS HD CMOS as opposed to APS-C? The A700 successor is almost certainly going to be SLT. Note Translucent mirror technology.

The black A77 is the earlier mockup again, and has things like the 7D/A700 style metering control and a fixed screen. The clear one is a current mockup and probably based on real components, it does not have the same controls. I think the very large button in the 'movie' position is a response to complaints that the movie button is too hard to hit on current models.

The screen articulation does not look very promising right now but it is hard to tell. I hope this changes to be more like the Canon 60D, rather than like the A55 (bottom hinged) or the NEX (non-rotating).

Our webserver was down for the whole of yesterday - this has been very frustrating after three years without problems, we have had two days in the last month, and this has been the worst (as well as worst-timed).
