I think the same Doc,
is the sensor in SLT closer to the lens than in ordinary SLR's so that a bit reflected light gets the sensor, when in SLRs it does not?

If you study the flare patterns from the A55, there is a fine ghosting associated with the mirror foil thickness itself, and a large internal reflection which appears - to me - to be caused by the condensor lenses of the AF module, which are exposed to reflected light all the time.

David, Did you try to take photos and try to get reflection without the mirror?

I actually thought that the "ghosting problem" was settled as being mostly a theoretical issue with barely discernible effects on the end product - the image. My recollection was that in practical terms there was barely a difference in output between the A580 and A55. It would be unfair to now compare the A55 with NEX-C3 as this latter sensor has probably been "tweaked" again.

Aram - there was no need to. I've never had any problems in real world shooting with the A55. I had to test it in extreme conditions to get the flare. For any normal image, there is no problem at all.

I totally agree with You David.
I was asking about it just for scientific interest.
